Faded / Poor signage at junction of stamford st / ridge hill lane

I travel along this road every day and at least once a week I see someone get confused by it because the only signage is painted on the road and that is all faded / broken up.

It's an unusual junction in that once you pass Rassbottom St, it's a single lane, but the left hand lane becomes left turn only; if you want to go straight on, you have to go into the right hand lane immediately after the pedestrian lights. This is not logical to most people and it's not uncommon for people to go straight on from the left hand lane leading to some near-misses as they cut up the car in the right hand lane.

Ideally what is needed is a sign at the junction saying "Get in lane" and then a left arrow for the left hand lane and a straight arrow for the right hand lane. However, I doubt that will happen, so at the very least, the road needs repainting so the writing is more obvious for people which lane they need to be in.
