Wooden bench collapsing

Reported by Hilde Morris at 20:23, Tuesday 10 July 2018

Sent to Adur District Council and West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later

In a corner by the old shoreham post office there are two wooden benches, (put there by the Council?)both old. one of them has collapsed and is in a dangerous state, has been like that for months. it's impossible to remove it as the legs are still attached to the wall behind with iron braces. this is an eyesore. please would the Council at least remove it even if they cannot afford a new one????

  • The council tells me this is private land, so not their problem. the Post Office tell me it is not their problem but that land belonds to Royal Mail. Royal Mail says it is not on their land and it is the Council's problem. someone is not doing their job here and I am getting very angry. I would be happy to take a hatchet down and remove the damn thing myself but then I could be taken to court for criminal damage...what to do?? grrrrrr
