Noisy pedestrian crossing

Reported in the Traffic lights category anonymously at 22:45, Mon 2 July 2018

Sent to Leeds City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1354411.

The pedestrian crossing outside of my house is far too loud. Cannot have my windows open during this hot weather without the noise causing a nuisance. Driving me crazy! I live by a busy road and am used to the constant noise of the traffic, but the pedestrian crossing is far too loud at all times of day! Has it been recently adjusted to be louder? For blind deaf or disabled people is there a suitable alternative for the loud noise? Would alleviate the problem if the volume could be turned down and just loud enough for the pedestrians to hear when crossing
