Bromley Council needs to review street cleaning policies and practices
Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 07:16, Wed 20 June 2018
Sent to Bromley Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1344156.
Birchwood Avenue received a visit from a street cleaning vehicle at an unsociable time BEFORE 07:00 I this morning (first pass @ c 06:45, second pass @ 06:55) which is the SAME DAY AS ITS REFUSE COLLECTION WILL TAKE PLACE, usually @ c 08:30 but variable from time to time.
Presumably Bromley Council’s street cleaning and refuse collection services are sub-contracted to the lowest tenders, but street-cleaning should be done at a sociable hour after the refuse has been collected. Today’s street cleaning is a profligate waste of council tax payers’ money and no doubt also awoke other residents at an unsociable hour.
Please review street cleaning policies and practices urgently.

As is the case more often than not, Bromley Council made a standard response and took no action. Meanwhile reports of ‘appalling’ streets in dire need of proper cleaning continue to be made on a depressingly regular basis. So much for Bromley being the ‘clean and green borough’!
