State of street after seagull party and rubbish collection

Reported via iOS in the Street cleaning category by Frances Emerald at 09:52, Wednesday 13 June 2018

Sent to East Sussex County Council and Hastings Borough Council 3 minutes later

As a result of people on Kings Rd not having seagull proof rubbish bags, the seagulls rip open every bag and have a good party. When the rubbish is collected, we are left with a disgusting looking and stinking street. We really need the street washed on a Wednesday after refuse collection. We traders are trying to lift this street up but are let down by filthy unwashed pavements.

  • HBC have requested a spray of the area. Unfortunately, residents will leave seagull sacks on the pavements causing obstructions for the high footfall area, and bins will encourage side waste and fly-tipping and become full very quickly. These are all solutions thought of, but create others in the process.
