Damage to footpath outside 24 Station Road Stoke Golding

Reported anonymously at 20:50, Tue 5 June 2018

Sent to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1331436.

Builders are working at 22 Station Road Stoke Golding CV13 6EZ and started a two story side extension of this property. Also Water authority have been digging the road outside our address. In order to remove rubble using huge lorries with grab arms (similar to haib lorries) they have driven onto the footpath directly in front of our property and cause the tarmac footpath to crack and sink where it abuts our grass verge and a no parking sign. Severn trent have also parked large lorries directly outside our property on the footpath while digging the road up. An individual (unknown) has placed a dollop of tarmac over the worst area on the footpath however this path is a direct route for children and elderly residents walking up and down and is cracked and breaking up. It is likely to cause further problems in due course and if injury then a case against the county council highways dept may result. Could one of your team visit, check and repair the footpath as soon as possible please.

Updates

  • Reported a problem to the council regarding damaged footpath a month ago. No visit by the council, no contact except to say how well did we do!!! Very disappointed.

  • You have to report damage to highways on line now. Two months ago I made the council aware of damaged footpaths yet nothing has been done. The council are quick to seek feedback and undertake surveys asking if the problem has been fixed yet fail to acknowledge the initial report. Largely a waste of time.
