Thorn type hedge reducing road width on an already narrow bend
Reported in the Trees overhanging highways category anonymously at 23:42, Sat 19 May 2018
Sent to Norfolk County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1316718.
Thorn type hedge reducing road width on an already narrow bend at No. 57, Hemsby Road, Martham. Also some leylandii are right out to the verge at No. 55. Highways cut grass verges but this vegetation also needs a good flailing back. Look at the other side of the road here to see how traffic has to pull in to pass (esp. buses & LGV's)

Norfolk County Council Highways visited the site and said it was not bad enough for them to intervene. The bank opposite is eroded and dangerous as there are short sections of exposed kerb at the bases of the street lamps. These kerbs can be struck by those not familiar with the road.. All because leylandii and thorn type hedges are allowed to encroach the road.

One side of the road on a bend is a building with no verge - eroded away over time I expect. The other side is over-wide hedging. This hedging ought to be severely cut back or taken out as it makes this bend dangerous.

The thorn hedge has had a slight trim but could do with a bit more taken back to restore a verge at the narrow bend.
