3 large concrete blocks right next to roadway

Reported via iOS anonymously at 23:56, Wednesday 16 May 2018

Sent to Basildon Borough Council and Essex County Council 4 minutes later

Blocks being used by owner to block access to gates. Far too close to side of the road meaning there would be a serious potential problem if a car has to swerve to miss an oncoming vehicle. Owner could easily have moved the blocks further away from the road and still serve their purpose

Updates

  • No change when went past the apot on Tuesday. According to the Essex Councy Council site where I also logged hte problem, they say "This issue has been investigated, risk assessed and recorded in line with our Maintenance Strategy and we are in the process of scheduling works. "

So hopefully these large concrete blocks will be moved further away from the edge of the roadway soon

  • Still no progress. Surely it should be so simple for Basildon Council to insist the owner moves these blocks!!!

  • Council have done nothing about it, other than their initial report back in May which said "We have investigated, risk assessed and recorded this issue and we are in the process of scheduling works".

There is no scheduling of works required - all they need to do is get the owner of that entrance next to the roadway to move the large blocks back from the side of the road !!! Since I originally reported the problem with these blocks they have been moved so they are at an angle to the road so worse if any bike rider or car were to hit them!
