Loud Bangs hour after hour!!
Reported anonymously at 12:53, Fri 4 May 2018
Sent to Leicestershire County Council and North West Leicestershire District Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1303254.
For the last few days all Ive heard is bang after bang after bang. I live near Woodstone Primary and presume its coming from one of the nearby farms! After some Googling it appears to be a bird scarer.. I wouldnt mind, but it goes on for around 14 hours per day, it appears to have become my new alarm call and allowance to go to bed! Its not once every hour, which would be bad enough, its several times p/hr and over a long period of time! Sense Valley and the nature reserve arent too far from here, so why is this allowed?? No doubt NWL council arent interested and require me to faff about filling in a log for a fortnight.. Ace.
Updates
-
Still being woken to the sound of two or three gas bird scarers.
Being abruptly woken up at 6am is grating on me.. 7 days a week.. No chance of respite even on the bank holiday yesterday. Too tired to do anything and this is spoiling every weekend I have with my family.. I cannot even enjoy simply sitting in my own garden.
The noise is waking up my son who is school age and supposed to be revising for his assesments.. even hes grown tired of it now..
**A minimum of 6 bangs every 10 minutes from 5.58am onwards.. (Although Friday just gone was a treat of 9 bangs every 10 minutes leaving virtually no gaps inbetween!!)
This happens every hour from dusk until dawn.
7 days a week.
- theres your log NWL council.**
When the wind carries it might as well be going off just a few doors away. Instead it reverberates through the housing estate and disturbs us all.
I couldnt even enjoy a walk nearby with my family without jumping at the noise.. (although youd think id be used to it by now!!)
I can just about take being woken up myself, but my son being woken up is thoroughly unfair and annoying.
Whats more annoying is that the gas bird scarers DO NOT WORK. Even farmers will tell you this, and a few have recordings showing the birds staying on the ground and feeding just a few feet away even when the noise goes off, they dont even attempt to move! Go and see for yourselves.. the few birds that feed just remain there DESPITE THE NOISE! They have simply grown used to it..
