Car regularly parked that causes disruption to flow in traffic

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 00:49, Tue 17 April 2018 using FixMyStreet Pro

Traffic usually parks on one side of Milestone Road (in the lead up to and past the junction with Ashfield Rd) so that traffic is not repeatedly prevented from flowing freely. However, there is one vehicle that insists on parking on the left-hand carriageway (heading towards Black Bourton Rd) and causes significant disruption to the heavy flow of traffic that passes along Milestone Rd during rush hour. There was an accident several months ago where a vehicle parked in this position was struck by another oncoming vehicle. Solution...?? Double yellow lines along one side of this particular part of Milestone Road so that drivers are not having to weave in and out of vehicles parked along both sides of the road and to prevent another vehicle colliding with a car that is facing the wrong way and in effect; causing an obstruction.

  • Completely agree with this. The one car that parks on the opposite side of the road to the rest of the vehicles causes more issues with the flow of traffic. For the sake of walking a few extra steps across the road. I’m pretty sure that the car that is parking on the opposite side belongs to the same peoples who’s car was hit and written off a few months ago when parked in the same position.
