Fire in bin has created problems opening and closing it

Reported in the Refuse & recycling category by Julia Wilde at 13:39, Fri 13 April 2018

Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council 1 minute later

Since there was a fire in the communal bin in Foundry Street some weeks ago, the lid is now heavy to open using the food pedal. A frail, elderly neighbour complained she is unable to open it. Furthermore It crashes shut when you release the pedal, making a very loud noise and waking one up if the bin is used at night. The lid urgenly needs to be repaired.

  • More emails sent to the council since last report, yet still nothing has been done about the bin which is broken and loud and a real nuisance, especially in this hot weather.
