2 huge potholes outside number 4 and number 6 Swan Road well outside the NYCC's intervention size,

Reported in the Potholes category by Michael Jonathan Oldham at 19:02, Wednesday 11 April 2018

Sent to North Yorkshire County Council 2 minutes later

The potholes have been there for several months and because Swan Road is treated as a 'cut through' have been getting bigger by the day. They are now dangerous to pedestrians crossing the road and are at risk of causing damages to vehicles.

Updates

  • I have checked the road between number 4 and number 10 Swan Rd. The large pothole outside number 4 was only partly filled in, so is breaking up again. There are 3 smaller holes outside numbers 6/8 and 3 deeper holes outside number 10. Swan road is always very busy and so the road needs to be repaired properly either a full cut out repair or a much fuller and complete patch repair. The partly filled patch repair has such a short life it is really a waste of money as it will have to be attended to soon after being partly filled.

  • My last comments remain. The potholes were not filled in properly so many are breaking up again. Recently white markings have been put around potholes on Swan Road, including the ones badly repaired, but not all potholes have been marked. Is this a sign more repairs are to take place soon and, if so, will the unmarked hole been repaired. I find it strange that much less busy roads such as Kent Road and the roads off Bilton Lane are being resurfaced and not one of Harrogate 's main traffic routes. I can only assume more influential people live there!
