Due to our Minor Works contract coming to an end the old contractor has checked site and temporarily made safe any defects. A follow on order has been raised with the new contractors and a permanent repair will be undertaken in the next couple of months. Our apologies for the delay.

Not fixed. Repairs have taken place for a nearby footway, just not these ones, nor the other more severe defect nearby which is gradually getting worse.

Please could you provide photographs and further details regarding the location of the defects stated in your update?
Area Management, Highways, is responsible for the on-going Minor Works inspections of the footway and carriageway. Our job is to do the on-going minor maintenance of roads according to our Inspection Regimes and Investigatory Levels. Buckingham Close has a walked safety inspection once a year, both sides, to identify any defects that have reached the councils investigatory levels (the level at which a defect is considered for possible repair).
The investigatory levels for repair in the footway are trips of 20mm or above, or if the slabs are loose and rocking severely. Paving is not replaced if just cracked. In the Carriageway it is for localised immediate vertical deflections measuring 30mm deep or more in the trafficked directions. This does not mean that all defects that reach this level will be repaired, just that they may be considered for repair.
I will continue to monitor the condition of Buckingham Close, Petts Wood at its regular Annual Walked Inspection and at any report of a specific defect by the public.
