Contraflow cycle signage has been knocked by large vehicles so it isn’t visible to motor traffic

Reported via iOS in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 15:06, Mon 26 March 2018

Sent to Tower Hamlets Borough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1258461.

This street has contraflow provisions for cycles, but it is very badly marked. One contraflow sign is covered with stickers and the other has been knocked sideways by a large vehicle. This results in oncoming motorists not being aware of the fact that there are oncoming cyclists (and the motorists get aggressive as they think the cyclists using the badly marked contraflow space are breaking the law). Visible signs and the addition of some road markings would be very helpful.

Alternatively, if Princelet Street and Wilkes street could be given contraflow provisions for cyclists, I think it would result in less conflict as these streets are used less than Hanbury Street (and the parking on Hanbury street means there isn’t space for larger bicycles/ cars to use the street at the same time).
