Illegal and Dangerous car parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 10:15, Tue 20 July 2010

Sent to Stroud District Council 4 minutes later

Cars frequently park right at the junction of Hampton Lane and the A419, blocking the view of the main road when leaving Hampton Lane, meaning you have to pull out blindly onto the A419. Cars also park directly opposite Hampton Lane on the A419 which means pulling out can be dangerous.

Updates

  • The District Council can only issue a Penalty Charge Notice if the vehicle is parked in contravention of a Traffic Regulation Order (yellow lines, limited waiting bays etc). Where there are no double or single yellow lines you should report the incident to the police as obstruction on 0845 090 1234.

  • Duly noted but there should be yellow or white lines painted so people know not to park there.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 23:46, Tue 17 August 2010

  • I have since managed to persuade the Council / Gloucestershire Highways to paint "Keep Clear" on the road. It's a shame it has taken so long and a few accidents might have been avoided if it was done sooner.
