Rumble strips
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 18:14, Sun 18 March 2018
Sent to Norfolk County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1249542.
Vehicles are driving on the wrong side of the road to avoid the rumble strips on the road at the top of the hill leaving Melton Constable. This is very dangerous. the rumble strips have been there for decades and every time the road is resurfaced it make the indentations even deeper and drivers are damaging their wheel rims and suspension. These need looking at urgently.

Hi there - thanks for this. I came out to inspect the rumble strips with a Highways engineer a fortnight ago, as part of assessing what measures might help reduce traffic speed through the village. I'm aware they're getting worse and will see what can be done! Warm wishes Steffan Aquarone County Councillor, Melton Constable Division

Hi there - we're going to get these filled in properly, i.e. completely removed, at the same time as putting up some 'village gates' that will, we hope, be more effective at reducing the speed of drivers coming into the village.

Still no progress on the rumble strips. I followed two cars recently and both swung out and drove on the other side of the road to avoid them. very dangerous!
