Cars of nearby properties parking on the t junction
Reported in the Parking on street category anonymously at 23:25, Tue 13 March 2018
Sent to North Warwickshire Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1244199.
There are constantly cars parked on the T junction (left side and opposite when pulling out of Meadow Gardens) causing obstruction of vision of cars and pedestrians on or crossing the road. The cars park right up to the end of the junction meaning that it isnt possible for a car to turn left onto Meadow Gardens from Newlands Road if there is a car trying to exit Meadow Gardens due to the exiting car being forced to sit centrally over the lines on the road. As government highway rules state, you must not park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space.

Warwickshire County Council does not have the authority to deal with vehicles parked inappropriately at this location. For assistance with a vehicle which is causing an obstruction you would need to contact the Police who have powers to take appropriate action. The Police have the authority as the Highway Code states“You MUST NOT leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position or where it causes any unnecessary obstruction of the road. [Laws CSDPA sect 21 & RTRA sects 5 & 8]” In such a case they may issue a Fixed Penalty Notice or arrange removal/relocation of the vehicle.
