Dropped kerb and textured paving encourage dangerous crossing

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 17:14, Fri 9 March 2018

Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1239049.

Dropped kerb and textured paving, and textured paving on central island encourage pedestrian crossing Winchester Road on the north side of the Bournemouth Road/ Hursley Road roundabout - where there is sometimes fast traffic from Hursley Road to Winchester Road that does not slow at the roundabout - and there is inadequate visibility by pedestrians crossing from the west side of Winchester Road. A number of close shaves have been reported. The crossing needs to be relocated, the textured paving and dropped kerb removed, and the road needs to be narrower at the crossing point.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • There is no issue with the crossing here, plenty of time to cross the road especially with an island in the middle.
