Litter in hedgerow along Thame Park Road

Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 17:00, Sun 25 February 2018

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1227733.

Litter needs to be removed from the hedgerow along the East side of Thame Park Road to the South of the Phoenix Trail. This has been accumulating for well over a year and is never cleaned up. Unfortunately the photos don't fully illustrate the extent of the problem. It is a lot worse.

Updates

  • Volunteers on Thame Tidy Day picked up along the front hedge line. Items within, behind the hedge and down the embankment, have not been collected. In one area there are at least 10 glass bottles that have been thrown down.

  • There has been no progress on picking up the litter within and behind the hedgerow. Weeds are growing and the hedge is greening up so the litter is not so visible. Unfortunately more is being dropped daily. I pick up what I see in front of the hedge and deposit it in the litter bin opposite Chowns Close. More often than not this bin is overflowing. There is a temporary bus stop on Thame Park Rd just past Jane Morbey Rd. Perhaps a litter bin should be provided next to the stop where more litter is being dropped.
