This report is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council and has been passed to the relevant organisation. I believe Thames Water own the manhole covers you refer to. An email was sent to their customer services as follows. "Oxfordshire County Council Highways Department has received a Fix My Street request Ref: https://fixmystreet.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ report/ 1226649 about “Manhole covers sinking - needs looking at urgently” on the B4044 Westway, by the junction with Westminster Way, Botley next to traffic lights on the Cumnor Hill bound lane – Oxford. I believe they are yours. Please could you fix them ASAP as this is a busy section of road with many buses etc. Thanks."

I have had a reply from Thames Water who say the manhole covers don't belong to them. I have therefore, contacted BT and asked them to send an engineer to investigate.

Thank you for your report. I spoke to An Oxford City team who were investigating all the manholes in the area pinpointed. They say they had raised the covers at this location and found that they were defunct BT manholes. I have contacted BT Openreach to send an engineer out again to double check.

Thank you for your report, I have chased this job up, with BT Openreach, a couple of times, recently, the latest reply is: "This defect is still with our contractor Telent Infrastructure Solutions for repair. The job had an original RBD of 13/7 /18. With no apparent recent progress showing on the Telent job database I have raised a new escalation to Telent. I have attached photo and urged early completion. I await their response."
