Two tyres thrown in Coventry Canal inbetween bridges 3 and 2

Reported in the Flytipping category anonymously at 13:05, Tuesday 13 February 2018

Sent to Coventry City Council 5 minutes later

Spotted two car tyres sticking out of canal this morning on my walk to work (11.15am) - did not see them yesterday so seems to be a new thing (unless they swam up/downstream themselves). They are on the bend down from Bridge 3, as you walk to Bridge 2. Have seen residents on Matlock Road (nearby canal access) dumping rubbish in canal before (but do not have domicile details) also there is a mechanic's garage on next street along - Brooklyn Street which also has canal access. These are just potential suggestions of who may be responsible. I do not have evidence, but Matlock Road has regular incidents of flytipping and with regard to the garage, it wouldn't be the first time a business disposed of rubbish illegally/incorrectly. Also the place where tyres have been dumped has businesses on either side (Sutherland House offices on one side and some industrial estate on the other side) - perhaps they may have CCTV which could show the tyres being dumped?

  • I haven't seen them so hopefully they were removed :) but they could have sunk to the bottom of the canal like a lot of stuff so I'm not sure :(
