Poor road surface causing excessive noise/vibrations from traffic

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:55, Tue 6 February 2018

Sent to Middlesbrough Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1208017.

Poor condition of road surface outside my and nearby houses (322 – 336 Marton rd) is causing a noticeable and excessive increase in noise and vibrations from passing traffic (noticeably HGVs and buses) in all surrounding buildings. We have always heard traffic passing the house but recently (over the past 2 months or so) this is causing big vibrations and shaking through the house. I suspect the main cause of this is due to the uneven road surface which is in poor condition, with the top layer worn away in parts that has left visible ridges on the road. This part of the road has also had numerous repairs on the same holes within the last 6 weeks, the first repairs didn't last long and needed fixing again within a week. .
