Illegal parking

People have been parking illegally on the double yellow lines down this road for years, despite the fact that there is plenty of parking available on Pelham Road. It’s just laziness as they then have to walk an extra 10-20 steps to visit the shops. Last year, the council resurfaced this road and covered the yellow lines. About a month later, they repainted the double yellows. Why they bothered, I don’t know as the old ones were never enforced and, to date, I very much doubt that the new ones have ever been enforced! Something needs to be done. The road is quite narrow and cars sometimes have to drive on the pavement in order to pass the illegally parked cars. A lot of people park in or too close to the junction with Pelham Road, causing even more inconvenience and danger to other road users just so they can take 2 steps less to reach the shops! The problem is worse at evenings and weekends when people are visiting the take-always or stocking up on drink. The council need to recognise this location as a hotspot for their traffic wardens and send them at appropriate times
