Water and oil flowing out of drain

Reported anonymously at 14:49, Sat 3 February 2018

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1205321.

The drains in Cromer High Street are blocked and out of the drain by Kenilworth there is water and oil emptying out onto the road. There is a strong smell of diesel and you can see the pattern of oil in the water. I suspect there is a leaking oil tank somewhere and the oil is getting into the drainage system. As the drains empty directly into a stream this will cause an environmental issue. Also oil on the road may cause an accident.
