This paving has been an issue since I started working here last January. Today I have attempted to park my courtesy car in as close as I could to the kerb as the residents parking boxes are too small for the cars to park in on this road. As it is a courtesy car I did not want to get : a. A parking ticket for being out of the box. B. Anyone to hit the side of the car as when two cars park adjacent it is very very tight to get a car through the middle safely.
I had gone to pull away and the tyre caught on the metal work sticking out into the road from the pavement causing it to rip across the tyre causing significant damage. As this is a courtesy car they will claim this through the insurance meaning I will have to pay the excess charge of £150. I will be expecting the council to refund me this payment as the damage caused to the car is purely down to the council's inability to maintain this pavement and obviously I am not happy paying for damage that has been caused by unsafe damage paving /road surface. If you need any further information or would like any reciepts I am contactable on 07495295282 after 8 on weekdays alternatively you can email at mattwedlake@hotmail.com. I eagerly await your correspondence. Thank you Matthew Wedlake.

Hello mate. I wouldn't worry too much. You'll get nothing from the council (they'll say you should've noticed). And from April 2018 you won't be able to use company permits for commuter parking in Clifton anyway. Probably best to put it down to one of life's lessons, and use your energy to find ways you can get to work after April which don't require a car (as you won't be able to park in CV or CE anyway)
