Series of wide potholes A283

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 14:46, Wednesday 31 January 2018

Sent to West Sussex County Council 4 minutes later

A series of holes in the surface layers of the road on the curved northbound A283 exit from the Old Shoreham gyratory seems likely to bring motorcyclists off their machines. Similar damage is readily visible over much of the A27 in this region.

  • Reply from West Sussex Highways : (Re Steyning Road - Condition) "Thank you for your report. We are already aware of the potholes here and unfortunately they currently do not meet our safety intervention level for repair. This issue has been raised outside of our safety plus policy for patching works, but unfortunately I am unable to give you an exact date as to when this will be completed. This is monitored through our cyclical inspections which is on a monthly driven, however in the meantime if you feel that this has become worse then please do not hesitate to contact us again. Regards, Highways Team"
