Cars parked on yellow lines- some not moved fir weeks

Reported in the Abandoned vehicles category anonymously at 18:30, Sat 27 January 2018

Sent to South Oxfordshire District Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1197993.

Cars constantly parked on Double yellow lines and near road junction- this is dangerous and is causing damage to verge. The edge of the road is breaking up where cars have to over take the parked vehicles/move too close to verge. Loss of road surface and potholes are dangerous especially at night. Some cars don’t appear to have been moved in weeks

Council ref: 1197993

Updates

  • This is and has been a problem for weeks/months. Someone is turning a blind eye or being payed off to do nothing. These cars are in relation to the MOT car yard on Pettiwell. Parking on double yellow lines is an offence and this is a danger as previously said you have to go into the verge which is broken up to pass.

  • I came down pettiwell last night and was amazed at the amount of cars parked on double yellow lines and debris on the road glass and fluids This is a national speed limit road and these cars are parked illegally The Highway Code states 248 You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space. Laws CUR reg 101 & RVLR reg 24

249 All vehicles MUST display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay-by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30 mph (48 km/h).

These people clearly have no respect for the law neighbours and the environment
