Junction box

Reported by Gareth Gilbert at 19:57, Tue 15 June 2010

Sent to West Sussex County Council and Worthing Borough Council 3 minutes later

Junction box open/unlocked. Note several of these boxes in this area have had the same problem in recent weeks.

Updates

  • Problem fixed but these boxes are easily opened by a vandal with simple tools such as pliers. The boxes need more secure locks.

  • The first mentioned street box/junction box is open again! Clearly this problem has not been permanently fixed.

  • It's Sunday 14 Nov 2010 and that junction box is open again. I'm glad Im not a Virgin Media customer!! All that high technology but no-one can put a secure lock on the box. Amazing.

  • It's now almost 8 years since I reported this issue and it's still not fixed. A few months ago Virgin engineers promised to report the issue but nothing has happened since. This is not the only box that's insecure they are all over the place. Must be Virgin's company policy to leave these boxes insecure/exposed!!!! Wake up Virgin. Do a proper, permanent fix.
