Manhole cover loose. Can't get any sleep ,the road is busy and this noise is unacceptable. Not a big deal on the greater scheme of things but it's a big deal for me

Sent to Essex County Council 4 minutes later

The cover is at junction of Cloes lane and Flatford drive in the road. This is a very busy road and traffic is constant day or night. The manhole cover is rocking on it's seating and peace is impossible as it sounds like a gunshot every time a vehicle passes over. I cannot sleep at night due to the noise, if not remedied this will eventually cause the road surface to collapse and cost more time and money to fix. As I have stated it's only a small matter but it's a major problem for me on a personal level,I hope you will take a look at the problem soon. Many thanks

Updates

  • Not fixed yet and it's getting worse, The constant clattering is depriving the whole household of sleep , keep going to answer the front door thinking it's the door knocker. Trying to watch Tv is pointless due to the noise. When the cover finally fails and causes an accident I will be sure to tell the newspapers. And if it isn't fixed soon it will cost more time and money than a simple inspection and re seating.

  • No result yet, according to the ECC website it is due for an inspection, take this with a pinch of salt as further down the road a large puddle and potholes is marked as due for inspection, no action needed or has been fixed depending on which marker you click on.

  • Still not fixed, I could maybe understand it if they were busy fixing potholes but sadly they get bigger by the day.
