Lamp standards falling over?
Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 17:01, Tue 23 January 2018
Sent to Southampton City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1193039.
Lighting standards 7, 8 & 9 have started to lean, possibly due to ground movement caused by the huge hole the opposite side of the road, or the heavy trucks operating from the building site?

A SSE lighting vehicle appeared there today, the driver got out and ‘inspected’ the lighting standards from the opposite side of the road, where they still appear to be perfectly vertical, hopefully he also took a longitudinal view down the road and row of lighting standards, where he would have seen the displacement I suspect is being caused by the building works and their heavy site traffic opposite.

As noted above, he came, he looked, he saw no problem, and the angle of lean increases.

No change, though with Salisbury road being closed completely in October perhaps they'll straighten them up or move/remove them completely then?

Seems the contractors are straightening them up with the tracked excavators bucket, for now.

The contractors pour lots of concrete to stabilise them, but in the process damaged the ancient rotting power cable that feeds them.

Seems the mass concrete pour has stabilised the lamp standards, for now...
