  • This blocked drain on Adelaide Road just above the entrance to Adelaide Bridge car park, reported in January, has not yet been fixed. The problem is that, because of the adjacent pavement profile, overflowing water runs into the adjacent Council-owned property, down a private road and to a drain just behind the garage of 26 Portland Place West (our house). Because of debris washed down from trees, this small drain has frequently to kept clear by us to prevent blockage (which would flood our garage). I would be grateful if this could be rectified asap. We are away for the next week and, with further heavy rain forecast, fear coming back to a flood if this work is not done. A longer-term fix would adjust the pavement profile to keep water within the road drainage system.
