Overgrown hedge over pavement
Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 11:31, Tue 16 January 2018
Sent to Hampshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1185228.
The pavement at the junction of Firgrove Road and Rownhams Lane is restricted by an overgrown hedge. This also severely restricts the view for traffic turning towards Romsey from Firgrove Road and could be the cause of a road traffic incident.

My county councillor is now involved. Action was expected in two weeks, but still nothing has happened

There have been a series of excuses by the county council for the lack of action. In March it was the weather, the latest is that they are "experiencing a large volume of highway and transport related enquiries at present"

Still no action from Hampshire County Council, so I have tried an approach to Test Valley Borough Council, as they cut the verges along this road.

The hedge is still overhangs the pavement by 18" and blocks the view for cars joining Rownhams Lane from Firgrove Road. Neither Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council or the Local County Councillor seem able to get anything done about what is described as "a privately owned hedge" despite it overhanging a publicly owned pavement.
