Westbourne Park, Linthorpe - Vandalism & Anti-Social behaviour

Reported anonymously at 19:51, Wed 10 January 2018

Sent to Middlesbrough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1180491.

Extreme Littering, broken glass, fire-starting, equipment damage, playing surfaces burned, grass surfaces dug into, repeated evidence of drug/substance misuse and trees destroyed by congretating groups in the covered spectator seating area stand during darkness/evening hours.

Unfortunately this is not an isolated case, as the above can be seen most mornings during the week. Mess is cleared away often but there are no measures in place to prevent re-occurances and the level of destruction is escalating.

The covered metal seating stand appears to be the focus, where groups congregate, and seems to be considered a 'safe place' out of sight for them where they are free from any repercussions.

I would strongly reccomend the removal of this seating stand which provides shelter and shield for those causing the problems as it as it is no longer being used for its intended purpose and contributes to the anti-social behaviour within the park

  • Continuing problems in Westbourne Park, linthorpe. All Anti-social problems continuously un-addressed. Problems and repeated vandalism/damage escalating.

This appears to be a serious problem which no-one is taking responsibility for. Disappointing results.

The seating area needs removing as soon as possible to deter gangs from hanging around there.
