Massive pool of water junction Church Road & High Street
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:25, Wed 10 January 2018
Sent to Leicestershire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1180473.
This issue is long outstanding following any period of heavy rain. My daughter and grand daughter slipped over when this water froze over. Luckily they were only shaken and did not break any bones. Vehicles are going on the other side of the road to avoid going through the water. Pedestrians have to wait for cars to pass to avoid being splattered on the one side of the road where the pavement is accessible. This recently resurfaced road is also developing pot holes. This matter requires prompt attention

Flood is still there weeks after being reported. Do not know if any remedial action taken, if it was it is entirely ineffective. Very disappointed at lack of response from Highways dept at Leics County Council.

The problem has only partially been fixed. the issue was passed on by Highways to I think the Water Authority for the adjacent river to be dredged. There is still standing water on the first corner of High Street Great Glen when approached from the top of Church Road.

Water still protrudes from the drain as mentioned on my last update. The drain in question has been tarmacked but the surface water issue is still not resolved. Any frost will leave a serious slip hazard as previously reported. You can send my comments to the council.
