Persistent speeding
Reported anonymously at 22:25, Tue 9 January 2018
Sent to East Sussex County Council and Lewes District Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1179486.
Our street is one of very few without any speed bumps and it is used by a lot of traffic trying to avoid congestion on the A259 coast road - a lot of drivers speed along Broomfield Avenue especially during morning and evening rush hour and it is dangerous for children and pets as well as pedestrians.

The council have replied stating that there is insufficient funding to put speed restrictions in place despite most of the surrounding roads and rhe top portion of the rosd having them - they have passed the buck back and told me to log the persistent speeders and report them to the police - very disatisfied to be told that I have to do their job for them - a neighbour reports that they were told that at least 2 people would have to be killed on the street for it to be deemed worthy of speed restrictions - if thats true then its outrageous!
