No allowance for disabled people

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Gaynor Tarr at 10:19, Sun 16 December 2007

Sent to Newport Council 1 minute later

My mother lives in Rochester Road. She has recently become disabled and relies on being taken out in a wheelchair. Trying to get from Rochester Road to Maindee is practically impossible. None of the roads leading of Archibald street have wheel chair access ramps on the pavements. Some of the pavements have such a large drop that it is almost impossible to get a wheel chair up or down. The council promised to have these problems sorted out in November. Its now December and there is no sign of them even starting work. The pavements on Chepstow road are no better. If it wasn't for the kindness of me and my family my mother would be a prisoner in her own street. Please get these pavements sorted out
