Sorry but you shouldn't have gone over the white line! What if the white line had a six inch high kerb edge and you smashed up against that, I suppose the council are to blame in putting up a kerb edge.
In short don't go over the white line.

Thank you for the prompt reply from yourselves which i have copied and pasted below “Sorry but you shouldn't have gone over the white line! What if the white line had a six inch high kerb edge and you smashed up against that, I suppose the council are to blame in putting up a kerb edge. In short don't go over the white line.” The problem i think is it was too prompt as it took just 55minutes to return this opinion of whether or not i should have crossed a white line. if there had have been a 6 inch kerb in place would the council have put it on the while line ? Road markings , or a line is put on the road with a reasonable distance to the kerb stone and if we want to be pedantic about the line i wouldn't have necessarily fully crossed the white line as the pot hole had took away the complete width of the line. i will ask you one question, by your own opinion are you saying it is acceptable to leave the road in i substandard state because there is what's left of a white line that makes it the drivers fault. Hence would it be ok to leave a small pothole on the edge of a bus lane as cars shouldn't cross the solid white line and the it won't affect the larger wheel of the bus. in conclusion i feel my point and claim has been ignored on a tenuous point to say the least in an attempt to save money i look forward to your reply
