Surface flooding

Sent to Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1171750.

Surface flooding continues to occur outside Not 29 and 37. This has been addressed several times but continues to be a problem. The area of the road also appears to be sinking again. - The Culvert was infilled with concrete many years ago. Suggest that opening up the Culvert again might address this problem?

    Website states Problem Fixed. It hasn't been! Surface flooding continues in heavy rain & the road in that area has once again sunk. (See Photo 1). Culvert was blocked with concrete some years ago (Photo 2). This Culvert used to drain water away efficiently. Madness!

    28.03.18. - 11.25 a.m. Photo below (taken today, 28.03.18.) shows continued surface flooding. An area of the road has sunk, allowing water to accumulate. - The road needs to be repaired in such a way that the water can run off properly, not 'puddle'. This part of the road has been dug up/replaced several times over the years, but the problem has never been resolved.

  • Surface flooding continues to be a problem in heavy rain. Has any thought been given to my original suggestion of re-opening the culvert? This would allow surface water to drain away.
