Surface flooding outside Numbers 8 - 10.

Reported in the Other (non-highways) category anonymously at 12:42, Tue 2 January 2018

Sent to Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1171746.

Surface flooding outside these houses (and opposite the 'new build' house seems to have occurred since the road was dug up recently. - At times the water is camouflaging the drain cover which could cause serious damage either by someone tripping or a car hitting it.

  • Awful. Website stated problem had been dealt with & closed. - It has not been dealt with and surface flooding continues in heavy rain. The area of road where it floods has also (once again) sunk. (See Photo 1). The Culvert (Photo 2) was blocked with concrete some years ago. If this was released it would probably solve the problem.

  • Saw some workmen poking around the drain there yesterday (28/03), but not sure if this was related. Water continues to pool on the road. When there is a heavy downpour the amount of water blocks vision of the raised drain, which could cause damage to a car if it hits it.

  • Nothing fixed. Stlll surface flooding in heavy rain, obscuring the side of a drain at the side of the road which no doubt one day will be hit by a car.

  • Torrential rain last week once again saw this area flooded. It becomes dangerous as the flood water rises above the level of the side of the concrete drain on the edge of the road. Cars who are unaware of its location could hit this and cause a serious accident.

  • Continues to be a problem in heavy rain. The concrete top of the side drain becomes submerged in water, which is a hazard for vehicles.
