Footpath covered in mud from people driving over grass verges

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:27, Monday 1 January 2018

Sent to Wirral Borough Council 2 minutes later

A number of houses along Stanton Road have converted their gardens to parking spaces which is fine but to access them they must drive across a wide grassed area. This has caused a great deal of damage to the verges and created a lots of mud which spreads across the footpath and combined footpath & cycle path. Making paths very slippery and being by a school kids are having to walk in the mud to get across to the school.

  • No better in fact its getting worse with deep gouges now in the grass verge at the junction with Corrie Drive. Footpath is dangerous and forecast of snow and ice will only make it worse as the mud spread on footpaths will freeze.

  • Worse than ever with deep ruts in some areas and lots of mud spread across pavements which became very icy in recent bad weather. Add to this people are also parking fully on the pavement so in some places you have no option but to walk through mud

  • No different. More mud than grass now. Council don't care, some residents have an 'I'm alright Jack' attitude and not only drive across the grass verges, they also park on them and block the path too so pedestrians have to walk in mud.
