Environmental health problem - Buzzing noise and cooking smells from Steki's Taverna's fan

Reported anonymously at 22:08, Tue 5 December 2017

Sent to Brighton and Hove City Council 2 minutes later

The very loud buzzing/whining noise from the extractor fan in Steki's Taverna has returned (the restaurant entrance is located on King's Road, but the fans are at the back facing onto Queensbury Mews). The fans have obviously not been cleaned in over a year, and the smell of burnt cooking oil, and the buzzing sound impacts the entire street as well as all of the residents in Abbots.

The buzzing noise is constant during the hours that the restaurant is operational. This has been occurring for approximately 4 months, and is getting louder all the time.

Last time Steki's refused to clean their fan to fix this problem until contacted by the Council's environmental health and noise teams. This now needs to be sorted again.
