Noisy manhole cover

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1156376.

On Pallingham Drive, in between the junction of Bassett Road and Lucerne Drive, there is a really noisy manhole cover. It is loose and every time a car or a bus goes over it, it makes a really unpleasant sound.

  • Manhole Cover is still not fixed and is now extremely noisy every time a bus or a car goes over it. It is right outside my daughters and my bedroom window and is making sleeping difficult.

  • Believe this is a drain cover between junction of Bassett Road and Lucerne Drive, near residential driveway to several houses. Very noisy now. Is disturbing my sleep. Please fix it!

    The first photo shows the extremely noisy manhole cover which has been outstanding since 5 December 2017. This is so loud and is right outside my bedroom window, that it is extremely unlikely that I sleep through the night, as the buses always aim right for it. Right next to it, is another hole in the tarmac that has appeared out of nowhere. These surface faults are not only unsightly but they are both dangerous for motorcyclists and cyclists but I’m sure that they will cause an accident or alternatively do some damage to the chassis on a car. When will they ever get fixed? It has been since 5 December, when I first reported this...
