This is a continual problem, but at 8:25 this morning I tried to travel down church road towards Ashford station. A delivery lorry was unloading on the main road at a prohibited time opposite the bus stop. A bus was parked so at one point there was no access for other vehicles. As the bus moved the traffic continued from the opposite direction however I was unable to pass safely. I was there for a substantial amount of time and conscious that the traffic was growing behind me and panicked. I tried to pass the vehicle to enable traffic flow and in the process my door was caught on the tail lift of the lorry. These lorries are a regular occurrence unloading at this time and a regularly causing delays to traffic. Why are they allowed to continually do this?
JUST LIKE CLOCKWORK !!! It seems that Bookers deliver regularly just after 9 a.m. on a Tuesday to the local store. Are the traffic wardens turning a deliberate blind eye to these acts of willful obstruction ? The resulting tailbacks to Clockhouse Lane and all the surrounding area were causing chaos this morning. If the council can't get to grips with this regular disruption they should employ someone who can.
