No road markings

Reported in the Road Marking category anonymously at 14:42, Tue 21 November 2017 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Oxford City Council 3 minutes later

There are no marking on the road, causing road users to behave recklessly. The junction looks almost like a round about but perhaps not clear enough to all the users. It is unsafe for both road users and pedestrians.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report regarding the new junction layout at the Broad Street junction with Parks Road, Catte Street and Holywell Street .

For information, this scheme was approved in March this year following very extensive consultation .

As at the Frideswide Square scheme by Oxford rail station, the scheme comprises an informal roundabout and ‘courtesy’ crossings designated by a distinctive surfacing material (information on these types of informal crossings in the following Department for Transport guidance https://www.gov.uk/ government/ uploads/ system/ uploads/ attachment_data/ file/ 3873/ ltn-1-11.pdf - see specifically section 6.20 -22) and we are monitoring the new layout here very closely to check that it is operating safely. This monitoring includes making frequent visits to the site, which will continue in the coming months.
