Flytipping in the street

Sent to Cornwall Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1146874.
Once again the weekend is upon us and repeated flytipping in Carnarthen Street, Camborne outside Simms scrapyard. Once again I find myself having to report it. In the past the council have always responded positively and removed the rubbish, sometimes before it gets scattered by late night revellers and sometimes not. But please, how about more positive actions to deter in the first place. It'll save me the hassle of constantly reporting it and save the council time and money in having to respond and deal with it. A clue: Clear warnings on the gate, CCTV monitoring etc. It will only take one or two well publisized convictions to see the problem diminish. I realise dumping might then shift elsewhere but in fairness Carnarthen Street is not an official dumping place no more than anywhere else is. Surely it's also in the interest of the Simms company to resolve it.

Fixed but not solved. ie: the offending rubbish is collected and taken away but only on an event by event basis. If I don't report it rubbish is left there for many days. This often results in the rubbish being spread around the area and never collected. Simple appropriate and to the point signage would be welcomed, video surveillance, bright lighting would all help to alleviate the problem on a more permanent basis. Also, the yard owners could take more responsibility for this as it is their presence that allows it in the first place.
