Modification of Pavement - Possibly No Permission?!

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 23:43, Thu 16 November 2017

Sent to Hampshire County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1145857.

There have been (within the last week) closure and drastic modifications to the pavement here between nos. 6 and 8 Rival Moor Road, and a planning search doesn't reveal any permission held when searching on applications for both properties.

It seems someone has organised workers to close the footpath here, dig it up, modify it, extend both driveways out onto the public footpath, and additionally create an entirely new driveway. There is now one for number 8, and the curbstones have been replaced by a dropped curb. It also looks ridiculously messy as it seems dissimilar materials may have been used, like you're walking over someone's drive.

Whilst it doesn't strictly inconvenience me, people do have to pay for planning permission! Please change this to "Fixed" (or I can) if the report is incorrect and they do actually have permission.

Please feel free to pass this enquiry on if necessary.

Updates

  • Just added some before/after photos. Note how the driveway is now huge and it goes almost up to the bend of the road. Again, I'm not sure if this is allowed. If it is, apologies, both posts should be removed.
