Overgrown grass and weeds

Reported by MRS.JEAN HARDING at 12:10, Wed 12 May 2010

Sent to Devon County Council and East Devon District Council 4 minutes later

It is an island which could look great but it is very rarely mowed. We all look after our gardens but the island is an eyesore. EDDC cut a grass verge a stones throw from the island but leave the island. The DCC cut the island very very rarely and don't make a good job of it.They will not use weedkiller I am told.WHY DO TWO DIFFERENT COUNCILS CUT GRASS IN ONE ROAD? Please answer this simple question. Thank you.

Updates

  • Would still love to know why 2 different authorities cut grass verges/island in the same road! This is happening all around my area EX8 4JN. EDDC travel from Paignton to cut grass here in Exmouth!! It takes 10 minutes to cut our island by DCC. The travelling time and petrol spent from Paignton could be better used by cutting more verges here at EX8 4JN by local companies which in turn must save money for both authorities and everybody is a winner in the long run!
