Manhole cover sticking up near george and dragon pu

I was driving to work on monday morning when i hit the upturned manhole cover near the george and dragon. My tyre burst and i had to sort out recovery. The owner of the local garage informed me that the manhole had been like that since saturday and he'd called the council to complain. He also said that I was the 3rd person he knows of that had hit the manhole cover. I ended up getting 2 new tyres at a cost of £158.38. Obviously only the one tyre was burst, so I wouldn't claim against the second.
