Rubbish/recycling left on street on wrong days and boxes/bins spilling over street

Reported in the Rubbish (refuse and recycling) category anonymously at 09:15, Tue 31 October 2017

Sent to Cheltenham Borough Council 5 minutes later

Rubbish bags and recycling boxes are being left out on the wrong days, sometimes resulting in them being there for 2 weeks and spilling all over the pavement. Before summer everyone was told to keep their bins/boxes inside or thy would face a fine or their bins removed, this doesn't seem to be in effect anymore and new residents, of which there are many aren't aware of this. Piles of rubbish/recycling/boxes/bins are being left out in front of houses and blocking the pavements, made worse recently by the need for more boxes/bags for recycling- I did actually see someone trip on a rubbish bag which prompted me to write. Please can a reminder be sent out RE the rules/fines (last time it was someone who came and knocked all the doors).

  • I agree - bins and bags littering the street for 10 plus days is unsightly, a hazard, and contributing to increasing an already problematic litter issue

  • One house was asked to remove the pile of rubbish outside but nothing done about informing residents of rubbish/recycling days. Since Sunday there have been a fresh load of cardboard boxes and bin bags left outside spilling onto the pavement (bin day is next Monday, and the cardboard boxes will never be taken...)

  • Council stopped replying to me, nothing has changed sadly, rubbish and recycling still strewn across pavements on the wrong days
