Large number of deep potholes, one or two dangerous!

Reported in the Potholes category by Michael Jay at 13:45, Mon 30 October 2017

Sent to Bath and North East Somerset Council 5 minutes later

From the bottom of Coley Hill to a point close to New Chapter Farm, (approx 200mtrs) the road is in a very bad condition. At the bottom a large bank of road gravel has washed down, blocking the drain into the river forcing motorists and motor cyclist and pedal cyclist to negotiate the blind bend on the wrong site into the line of oncoming vehicles. Further up the hill there are several deep potholes which cause danger to cyclists. One is very dangerous which is located on a sharp bend and to avoid, once again cyclists have to travel on the wrong side into the path of oncoming vehicles.

  • A few white markings were placed around some of the potholes but have now nearly worn away. No other work carried out as yet. Even more dangerous now with fallen leaves covering them. All the gullies are blocked. An accident just waiting to happen!

  • Due to the continued bad weather the holes are getting worse and are now even more difficult to see due to loose gravel, mud and leaves. This requires most urgent attention to avoid a serious, possibly fatal incident.
